Nacheonsoo, a locomotive engineer at the Mokpo Locomotive Crew Office of Korea Railroad Corporation Gwangju Headquarters, achieved 1 million kilometers without accidents for the first time in 37 years of service as the Saemaeul-ho train No. 1063 passed through Imgok Station on the Honam Line the previous day. The Gwangju Headquarters of Korea Railroad Corporation announced on the 18th that Nacheonsoo, a locomotive engineer at the Mokpo Locomotive Crew Office, achieved 1 million kilometers without accidents after 37 years of service, as Saemaeul-ho train No. 1063 passed through Imgok Station on the Honam Line the previous day.

Nacheonsoo began his railroad career in January 1989 at the age of 19. Achieving 1 million accident-free kilometers is an extraordinary record, equivalent to circling the Earth 25 times or making 1,250 round trips between Seoul and Busan, all without a single accident.

Lee Chungoo, head of the Gwangju Headquarters, stated, "Reaching 1 million kilometers of accident-free operation is the result of Nacheonsoo diligently fulfilling his duties with a sense of responsibility for public safety," and added, "We ask that you continue striving to ensure customer safety in the future."

Nacheonsoo said, "By dedicating myself to my work as a locomotive engineer, which I consider my calling, I have reached this honorable day. I am grateful to my family and colleagues who have supported me in achieving such a meaningful milestone. I will continue to do my utmost to ensure the safe travel of our customers."
