Young Mobility Becomes First in Korean Fastener Industry to Obtain Ford Q1 Certification

Young Mobility (YM) announced on November 18 that it has become the first company in the domestic fastener industry to receive Q1 certification from Ford Motor Company.

The Q1 certification is Ford's highest-level recognition, awarded after a comprehensive evaluation of a partner's quality, production capability, and supply chain management. It serves as an official acknowledgment of a supplier as a primary partner of Ford. Additionally, it grants eligibility to bid for new business, making it a highly valued credential in the global automotive parts market.

To achieve this certification, Young Mobility formed a dedicated task force in October of last year, involving key departments such as quality, production, and sales. The project was officially launched and, after about one year, the company succeeded in obtaining the Q1 certification.

Currently, Young Mobility supplies bolts used in Ford’s European (Germany and United Kingdom) powertrains. With the Q1 certification, the company expects to secure new business opportunities not only in the existing European market but also in key markets such as North America and at Ford Thailand, where its plant is located.

Meanwhile, new projects with major global clients-including Hyundai-Kia Motors, the largest customer in both internal combustion engine and electrification sectors, as well as leading EV module companies such as Schaeffler, LG Magna, and BorgWarner-are continuously expanding.

In addition, Young Mobility is strengthening its sales activities with various overseas clients, including Ford, General Motors, and Rivian, leading to steady growth in exports and sales revenue.

A Young Mobility representative stated, "With this Ford Q1 certification, we plan to further enhance our competitiveness in the global market and continue to pursue technological innovation and quality advancement across the entire mobility industry."
