Korea Polo Federation Holds Friendly Match with Indonesia in Jakarta

The Korea Polo Federation announced on November 17 that it held a friendly match with the Indonesian Polo Association at the Nusantara Polo Club in Jakarta, Indonesia, on the 15th.


The event was attended by major Indonesian government figures, including President Prabowo Subianto, Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, who is also the president of the Indonesian Polo Association. Their presence demonstrated a strong interest in expanding polo cooperation between the two countries.


In the main event, the Korea-Indonesia friendly match, the Indonesian team-considered the strongest in Asia-showcased a high level of play and won 8-5. Although the Korean team was defeated, they maintained their focus and displayed a spirited performance, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.

During the awards ceremony, Kim Yunho was named Most Valuable Player (MVP), Kim Youngbin received the Best Sportsmanship Award, and Ko Youngman was honored with the Best Performance Award for scoring four goals.


On the 16th, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed to promote polo development and cooperation between the two countries. On behalf of the Indonesian presidential office, Korea Polo Federation President Cho Junhee and the Indonesian representative jointly signed the agreement. Both organizations agreed to exchange players and coaches, operate joint training camps, promote youth polo development programs, and carry out joint projects for the advancement of polo in Asia.


President Cho Junhee stated, "The signing of this MOU is an important milestone that will serve as a turning point for the development of polo in Asia. I hope that through continued exchanges and cooperation, our two countries can further develop polo at the intersection of culture and sports."


The Korea Polo Federation has recently been active in international exchanges, including holding a Korea-Japan friendly match in Jeju last October. The federation announced plans to further expand its cooperation network with major Asian polo nations such as Japan and Malaysia next year, and to continue promoting international tournaments and youth polo camps.
