The 2025 STAY Yeongdeok National Middle School Soccer League Championship Finals, a festival of rising stars in middle school soccer, concluded successfully after fierce competition and passion from promising players. The tournament was held throughout Yeongdeok County from November 5 to 16.
Hosted by the Korea Football Association (KFA) and organized by the Gyeongbuk Football Association, Yeongdeok County Football Association, and Yeongdeok County Sports Council, this event brought together representative teams from 64 regions nationwide and more than 2,000 players and staff, all vying for the top spot.
The participating teams delivered high-level matches worthy of their status as regional representatives, demonstrating the potential of players who will lead the future of Korean soccer.
The final match took place on November 16 at Yeonghae Sports Park Field A, where Chungnam Cheonan Football Center (U-15) faced Seoul Mokdong Middle School. After a nail-biting contest, Chungnam Cheonan Football Center (U-15) secured a 3-2 victory to claim the championship title.
This tournament also achieved significant results beyond the matches themselves. During the event, teams, parents, and tourists from across the country visited the region, invigorating local businesses such as restaurants and accommodations, and there was a notable increase in visits to major tourist attractions like Goraebul Beach and Blue Road.
Through this tournament and its active sports marketing, as well as content combining sports and tourism, Yeongdeok County is promoting regional revitalization, and the ripple effects are being positively evaluated.
Building on this event, Yeongdeok County plans to more actively attract off-season training camps and consistently host national and international competitions, further strengthening its year-round sports business that links sports and tourism.
County Governor Kim Kwangyeol stated, "Every participant who gave their best with passion and sportsmanship is the true protagonist of this championship," and added, "We will work even harder to improve facilities and ensure safety so that players and their families can perform at their best in optimal conditions."
