Kim Dongyeon: "Is the People Power Party a Party That Throws Ashes on the Economy?"

Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dongyeon advised the People Power Party not to "throw ashes on the economy."

On November 17, Governor Kim posted on his social networking service (SNS), "Is the People Power Party a party that throws ashes on the economy?" He lamented, "Denigrating the Korea-US Tariff and Security Fact Sheet as a 'blank sheet' is nothing but agitation that harms the national interest."

He continued, "There is a limit to pouring cold water on things," and evaluated, "With this fact sheet, the greatest enemy of our economy-uncertainty-has been definitively eliminated."

In particular, he said, "Thanks to the Lee Jaemyung administration, which successfully concluded the tariff negotiations, our companies are now able to establish large-scale investment plans. Yesterday, the President and the heads of major conglomerates met to discuss domestic investment plans totaling 1,300 trillion won over the next five years, which is truly welcome news."

Furthermore, he added, "Our economy, which had come to a halt, is now vigorously moving forward again. I hope that the People Power Party, if it cannot join in, at least refrains from holding us back."
