Strategies for the Future of the Logistics Industry and the Intelligent Symbiotic Ecosystem in the Age of AI Innovation

The Korea Maritime Institute (KMI) and the Future Logistics Technology Forum have published the fifth book in their annual series, "Logistics Trend 2026," which provides an in-depth analysis of the rapidly evolving logistics industry. To commemorate the release, a book talk event will be held on November 20 at the Maru180 Event Hall in Gangnam, Seoul.

Since its first publication in 2021, the "Logistics Trend" series has analyzed major issues and technological changes in the logistics industry each year, offering practical insights to industry professionals and policymakers. The new release, "Logistics Trend 2026," focuses on "The Future of Logistics Shaped by AI and the Intelligent Symbiotic Ecosystem," and covers future strategies for the logistics industry, including agentic AI, autonomous driving, humanoid robots, supply chain finance, and responses to geopolitical risks.

The book is organized into four chapters-Technological Innovation, Market Changes, Global Issues, and Sustainability-beginning with an overview. Experts from each field contributed to the writing, providing an in-depth analysis of real changes occurring in the industry.

In the foreword, KMI President Cho Jeonghee emphasized, "Amid changes driven by AI innovation, it is essential to have insights that enable a strategic response to the paradigm shift in the global logistics industry." He added, "I hope the Logistics Trend series serves as a bridge between theory and practice, offering practical direction to both the industry and policymakers."

The book talk event, themed "Discussing the Future of Logistics in the Age of AI Innovation," will feature a general session (led by Lee Eunkyung, Director of KMI Shipping, Logistics & Maritime Research Division), followed by Part 1, "How Technology and the Market Are Transforming Logistics," and Part 2, "Global Issues and Sustainability: How Should We Respond?" The event will serve as a platform for authors and readers to discuss the present and future of logistics and to share directions for innovation in the industry.
