This project was carried out with the goals of enhancing safety for hikers, expanding rest areas, and reorganizing scenic viewpoints, resulting in the Train Rock area being reborn as a new forest recreation destination.

Despite the excellent panoramic views from the summit, there had been ongoing calls for improvements to the aging facilities and the lack of rest areas around Train Rock.

Through this project, the city newly built an observatory (84 square meters) and two rest areas (45 square meters), and also installed safety ropes. As a result, the area around Train Rock has been improved into a space that combines safety, relaxation, and scenic views, creating a forest recreation environment where hikers can stay more safely and comfortably.

Mayor Kim Donggeun stated, "Train Rock is a landmark of Suraksan Mountain and a signature viewpoint of Uijeongbu. With the construction of the new observatory and rest areas, citizens and hikers can now enjoy rest and scenery in a safer and more pleasant environment. We will continue to expand forest recreation infrastructure to make Uijeongbu a city where people want to walk and stay."
