Dong-Eui University is launching its most powerful innovation drive since its foundation.


On November 13, Dong-Eui University (President Han Suhwan) held the 'Dong-Eui AX Vision Proclamation Ceremony' on campus, officially announcing its transition to an AI-based university education system and a future-oriented collaborative education model.

This ceremony was hosted by Dong-Eui University in partnership with EduVenture, a Google for Education partner. The event was attended by key figures including Sophy Bae, Head of Google for Education Korea and Mongolia, and Kim Jeongjun, CEO of EduVenture, among others.


From Dong-Eui University, President Han Suhwan, Vice President for Academic Affairs Jeon Gyeongran, Vice President for External Affairs Lee Imgeon, as well as over 30 key administrators including deans and directors, gathered to share the vision for AI innovation and demonstrate their commitment to its implementation.


In his welcoming remarks, President Han Suhwan stated, "In the AX era, universities must transform from spaces that merely deliver knowledge into open learning communities that create value and solve problems using AI. Based on collaboration with Google and our collaborative education system, we will expand AI convergence across all academic disciplines and support every student in growing into a future-oriented talent who advances alongside AI."


Vice President for Academic Affairs Jeon Gyeongran then declared in the AX Vision Statement, "We will establish an AX-based educational innovation system, promote digital transformation in research and administration, foster global and local leaders, and realize the warm, human-centered values of AI."


With this vision proclamation, Dong-Eui University has set forth its new vision, 'AI-Powered Dongeui: Innovating with AI, Advancing through Collaboration,' and will actively pursue university innovation based on AX. To this end, the university plans to establish the 'AI Digital Education Innovation Center' to create an AI-based educational environment and strengthen its curriculum.


Jung Jooyoung, Dean of the Center for Educational Innovation, presented a roadmap aimed at achieving Google Reference University designation, explaining, "Dong-Eui University has closely collaborated with Google to build a digital collaborative learning environment and campus culture." He added, "Through ongoing digital literacy education for faculty and students and support programs for obtaining Google Certified Educator credentials, we have achieved outstanding results. Building on these achievements, our goal is to obtain Google Reference University certification within the next year."


At the event, Dong-Eui University and EduVenture also signed a memorandum of understanding for 'Google for Education·Google AI (Gemini) Education Collaboration.' Through this agreement, the two institutions will pursue various collaborative models, including AI-based teaching workshops, support for education and training, AI education utilizing Gemini, joint research and curriculum development, and the establishment of a digital educational environment.


Sophy Bae, Head of Google for Education Korea and Mongolia, expressed her anticipation for expanded collaboration with Dong-Eui University, stating, "With Google's educational tools and AI technology, students can receive sophisticated, personalized support throughout their learning journey, while faculty and staff will be able to further enhance efficiency and educational quality across all aspects of course design and administrative work."
