Top Engineering's sales decreased by 45.6% compared to the previous quarter. The operating loss improved by 32.1%, while sales increased by 21.4% compared to the same period last year. However, the operating loss grew by 66.2% year-on-year.

The company explained that the deterioration in profitability was due to reduced investment by display customers and a sharp increase in the cost ratio of development-type secondary battery manufacturing equipment.

However, the company added that the completion of development projects in the third quarter and the transition of production bases centered on its Vietnam subsidiary are expected to reduce fixed costs. In addition, new high-value orders for mobile and cosmetics manufacturing equipment are anticipated to improve profitability going forward.

Top Engineering expects a turnaround in performance starting next year, driven by the full-scale realization of high-value orders and sales in new businesses such as mobile and cosmetics automation equipment.

The company has begun supplying automated mask pack production lines to a cosmetics specialist and is also pursuing the supply of inspection equipment utilizing vision technology, filling equipment based on dispenser technology, and pharmaceutical manufacturing process equipment.

In the mobile sector, the company is also expecting increased sales in smartphone equipment businesses, such as mobile dispensers that spray adhesive instead of using adhesive tape, bonding inspection machines, module assemblers, and vacuum laminators.

A Top Engineering representative stated, "Based on the technological capabilities we have accumulated in the display industry, we will expand our business into various fields such as mobile and cosmetics, and aim to achieve a performance turnaround next year."

Meanwhile, in October, Top Engineering was selected as the lead research and development company for the defense autonomous manufacturing system project and is currently conducting research and development for production automation in advanced defense weapon system projects.
