Promoting a Pleasant Residential Environment

On November 14, Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Kwangdeok) announced that it will implement the “2026 Small-Scale Multi-Family Housing Repair Support Project” for small-scale multi-family residential buildings that have been in use for more than 10 years since approval for occupancy.

This project aims to improve the poor residential environment of small-scale multi-family housing that lacks a management entity or faces difficulties in maintenance, and to help residents live in a safer and more pleasant environment.

The support covers multi-family and row houses that have received building permits under the Building Act. The support includes: △ waterproofing and maintenance of common areas such as rooftops, △ repair of roads, sidewalks, and security lights within the complex, △ improvement of the streetscape such as demolition of fences, and △ safety measures for outdoor facilities such as stone retaining walls, retaining walls, and fences where safety accidents are a concern.

Each complex can receive up to 25 million won in support, and for outdoor facilities with a high risk of safety accidents, support of up to 50 million won is available.

Applications will be accepted until December 12. The representative or management entity of the relevant multi-family housing must visit the City Hall’s Building Management Division with the required documents to apply. Afterward, the city will conduct document reviews, on-site inspections, and deliberations, and plans to finalize the list of recipients in March next year.

An Jin-ho, Head of the Building Management Division, stated, “Small-scale multi-family housing often faces difficulties in maintenance due to the absence of managers or financial constraints,” adding, “We will do our best through this support project to ensure that citizens can enjoy a safer and more pleasant residential environment.”

Details on how to apply, required documents, and other information can be found on the Namyangju City website’s Notice & Announcement board.
