The Seoul Metropolitan Government is adjusting the ratio of guest rooms at the Josun Palace Hotel, located in Centerfield West Tower, Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, to respond to changing tourism demand.

On November 13, the city announced that it had held the 18th Urban and Architectural Joint Committee meeting and approved the original proposal for the “Teheran-ro District Unit Plan and Detailed Development Plan for the Special Planning Zone at 676 Yeoksam-dong (Renaissance Hotel).”

The site is located near the Centerfield intersection in the heart of Teheran-ro, between Yeoksam Station and Seolleung Station on Subway Line 2. It boasts excellent transportation accessibility. The property is part of Centerfield West Tower, which was completed in 2021 (basement levels 1-2, above-ground floors 3-4 and 24-36), and is currently leased and operated by Josun Palace Hotel.

This amendment adjusts the ratio of guest rooms for tourist accommodation facilities, which was originally set in the detailed development plan established in 2016. The city aims to respond flexibly to changes in tourism demand and will allow the installation of additional facilities to enhance the hotel’s operational flexibility.

The newly designated auxiliary facility space will be used as a complex tourism content area where visitors can experience K-culture, catering to demand for immersive and experiential tourism. An “Art Collection Docent Tour Program” will also be offered for guests and general visitors, with the hotel’s art collection to be released to the public.

Cho Namjun, Director of the Urban Space Headquarters at Seoul Metropolitan Government, stated, “With this amendment, we expect to support business activities in line with tourism demand and provide world-class services and differentiated content to tourists visiting Gangnam.”
