The group TWS has added another Gold Disc certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan, according to their agency, Pledis Entertainment, on November 12, 2025.
According to the Recording Industry Association of Japan, TWS's fourth mini album, "play hard," surpassed 100,000 units shipped in October, the month of its release, earning it Gold certification. The association certifies albums based on cumulative shipments: Gold (100,000 units), Platinum (250,000 units), and Double Platinum (500,000 units).
TWS has secured Gold Disc certifications for all albums released this year. In April, their third mini album "TRY WITH US" received Gold, and in July, their Japanese debut single "Nice to see you again" achieved Platinum. In the streaming category, their debut song "The First Meeting Doesn't Go as Planned" surpassed 50 million cumulative streams in September, earning its first Gold certification.
"play hard" was released in Japan on October 30 and surpassed 100,000 units shipped within two days. The album topped the Oricon "Daily Album Ranking" and entered the top positions on the "Weekly Album Ranking," "Weekly Combined Album Ranking," and Billboard Japan's "Top Album Sales." It also set a new first-week sales record for a mini album in both Korea and Japan.
The title track "OVERDRIVE" climbed four spots to rank 88th on Melon's latest weekly chart dated November 10.
TWS is scheduled to perform at the "2025 MAMA Awards" on November 28-29, the "2025 FNS Music Festival" on December 3, and "Countdown Japan 25/26" on December 27.
