Kim Byungwoo: "Expecting Prompt and Fair Cooperation for the Safety of Korean Residents and Tourists"

The Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency (Commissioner Kim Byungwoo) held an official welcoming ceremony on the morning of November 11 at its headquarters, inviting a high-level delegation of seven members from the Ulaanbaatar Metropolitan Police Agency in Mongolia, including Commissioner Gankhuyag Arslanhuu. The two agencies discussed ways to strengthen security cooperation and expand international collaboration between the two countries.

This visit is part of a regular exchange program established under the memorandum of understanding (MOU) on security cooperation signed between the Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency and the Ulaanbaatar Metropolitan Police Agency in 2022. The delegation will visit Daegu from November 10 to 14 to observe the police security system and scientific investigation system.


During the meeting, the main topics of discussion included crime prevention and response to international crime, the establishment of a protection system for overseas nationals, and the promotion of police exchanges between the two cities. Both sides agreed to work together on follow-up action plans to further expand practical cooperation.


Kim Byungwoo, Commissioner of the Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency, stated, "As exchanges between Daegu and Ulaanbaatar become more active, I hope the Ulaanbaatar Metropolitan Police Agency will pay special attention to ensuring the safety of Korean residents and tourists. I look forward to both agencies establishing a prompt and fair cooperation system and becoming a model for international security cooperation."


Meanwhile, since signing the MOU, the Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency and the Ulaanbaatar Metropolitan Police Agency have continued personnel exchanges and policy sharing, and are recognized as a successful case of global security cooperation. The two agencies plan to further strengthen their friendly and cooperative relationship through continued regular exchanges in the future.
