Player of the Year Leader Hyunjo Yoo and Money Leader Jungmin Hong Set to Battle

Grand Prize winner Hyunjo Yoo and prize money leader Jungmin Hong will face off in a battle of pride.


They will compete in the WEMIX Championship, a Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour event held at Mauna Ocean Country Club in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, for two days starting November 15. The tournament was established in 2023. The top 24 players in the WEMIX Championship points rankings, determined by their performance in tour events throughout the year, will participate.

Hyunjo Yoo had her best season this year. She claimed victory at the KB Financial Star Championship, a major tournament, in September and achieved a remarkable 19 top-10 finishes. She ranked first in Grand Prize points (681 points) and scoring average (69.9368 strokes). She is third in the prize money rankings with 1,277,802,481 won. By topping the WEMIX points rankings, Hyunjo Yoo will receive an additional 50 million won in prize money.


Jungmin Hong also had an outstanding season. She secured three wins this year, including one major title. She leads the prize money rankings with 1,341,523,334 won and is second in both Grand Prize points (559 points) and scoring average (70.1111 strokes). In addition to these two players, previous winners of the first and second tournaments, Yewon Lee and Kim Minseon, will also compete. Ranked 12th in the WEMIX points standings, Jiwoo Ko will not participate due to a finger injury. Instead, Dasom Ma will take her place.
