'Assault Leader' Hwang Yumin has jumped to 29th in the world rankings.
According to the women's golf weekly world rankings announced on November 10 (local time), Hwang earned 2.98 points, climbing four spots from 33rd place last week. She secured points by winning the final event of the 2025 season on the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, the Daebo HausD Championship (total prize money: 1 billion won), held at Seowon Hills Country Club (par 72) in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, on November 9. She claimed victory after the fourth playoff, marking her third career win and her first in one year and seven months since the Doosan Engineering & Construction We’ve Championship in April last year. The winner's prize was 250 million won.
Last month, Hwang Yumin won the Lotte Championship on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour, securing her ticket to compete in the United States next year. In March, she also claimed victory at the season-opening Foxconn Players Championship on the Taiwan Ladies Golf Tour. She will take on the U.S. stage next year. Hwang stated, "I really wanted to win before heading to the United States. I am so happy," adding, "I will do my best to show a great performance in America as well."
Atthaya Thitikul (Thailand) and Nelly Korda (United States) maintained their positions at first and second place. Yamashita Miyu (Japan), who finished third at last week's LPGA Tour Toto Japan Classic, moved up from fourth to third. Lydia Ko (New Zealand) is in fourth place, and Lee Minjee (Australia) is fifth. Among Korean players, Kim Hyojoo is ranked eighth, Kim Seyoung eleventh, Yoo Haeran thirteenth, and Choi Hyejin seventeenth. Toto Japan Classic winner Hataoka Nasa (Japan) climbed seven spots to 25th.
