The Korea Real Estate Development Association (KODA) is presenting a new future direction for the developer industry as it marks its 20th anniversary.
On November 10, the association announced that it will hold a 20th anniversary ceremony on November 20 at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where it will officially declare its future vision. The initiative reflects the intention for the developer industry, which has led the development of cities and residential spaces over the past 20 years, to prepare for a new leap forward based on sustainability and public interest.
Since its founding, the association has played a leading role in institutionalizing the domestic real estate development sector and fostering professional talent. In response to rapidly changing urban environments and demographic shifts, the association plans to redefine the role of developers as an industry that not only creates spaces but also designs social value and the lives of future generations.
This future vision centers on strengthening public interest and transparency, promoting innovation through research and development and data-driven approaches, ensuring financial stability, developing eco-friendly cities, and expanding global networks.
The association is also committed to nurturing the next generation of developers. Through the 'ARPY' (Advanced Creative City-Real Estate Convergence Program for Young Professionals) program, launched in 2021, a total of 164 graduates have completed the program across five cohorts. This program offers practical, industry-focused education that integrates real estate development, urban planning, finance, and proptech.
Kim Seungbae, President of the Korea Real Estate Development Association, stated, "ARPY is a core program for nurturing the next generation," adding, "We will continue to develop it as an educational program that fosters leadership and entrepreneurial thinking to shape the future of the industry."
The anniversary event will also feature a global developer conference, the unveiling of a renewed corporate identity (CI), and the announcement of the establishment of the Korea Real Estate Development Industry Research Institute. The association plans to strengthen the competitiveness of the 'K-Developer' brand by expanding cooperation with overseas organizations.
Kim Hanmo, head of the 20th Anniversary Project Group and Chairman of HM Group, remarked, "The next 20 years will be a period of setting new standards through public interest, responsibility, innovation, and global collaboration," adding, "We aim to build an ecosystem that contributes to improving the quality of life for the public by nurturing next-generation experts and presenting research-based policies."
