Yeongju Shine Muscat Shipped to Taiwan... Full-Scale Entry into Overseas Markets

Yeongju Grape Export Cooperative Ships 5.4 Tons
Aiming for 120 Tons by Year-End

Yeongju City in North Gyeongsang Province has opened the door for exports of its representative local fruit, Shine Muscat, to Taiwan.

On November 10, Yeongju City announced that a shipment ceremony for 5.4 tons of Shine Muscat bound for Taiwan was held at the Yeongju Grape Export Agricultural Cooperative Corporation, located on Hoeheon-ro in Sunheung-myeon and led by CEO Bae Seokjun.

This export is expected to promote the quality competitiveness of Yeongju-grown grapes in overseas markets and serve as a bridgehead for expanding export channels in the future.

The Yeongju Grape Export Agricultural Cooperative Corporation is a newly established entity founded by local farmers, which has been stably producing and distributing high-quality Shine Muscat.

After exporting 52 tons last year, the cooperative had already exported 62 tons as of the end of October this year and aims to reach approximately 120 tons by the end of the year. In addition, it has been selected as a preliminary export complex by North Gyeongsang Province for 2026, demonstrating its high growth potential.

CEO Bae Seokjun stated, "This export to Taiwan will serve as a full-fledged bridgehead for Yeongju Shine Muscat's entry into overseas markets," adding, "We will accelerate efforts to pioneer various overseas markets, including Southeast Asia, beyond Taiwan."

Kang Maeyoung, Head of Distribution Support at Yeongju City, said, "Yeongju Shine Muscat boasts premium quality, with outstanding taste and aroma thanks to the large temperature differences and pristine environment in which it is grown," and added, "Taking this export as an opportunity, we will continue to support local farmers in expanding overseas sales channels and strengthening export competitiveness."
