This inspection was conducted in advance to check the overall wildfire response system, as the risk of wildfires has increased due to dry weather and strong winds.

Deputy Mayor Kim personally checked the operation status of the Comprehensive Wildfire Prevention Headquarters, the work system for wildfire suppression personnel, the standby status of wildfire suppression helicopters, and the management of equipment, thoroughly reviewing on-site response capabilities.

Currently, Yangju City has deployed a total of 67 personnel, including 32 wildfire prevention and suppression specialists and 35 wildfire monitors, to carry out patrols and focus on cracking down on activities such as smoking and illegal cooking in forests, as well as the burning of trash and agricultural waste near forested areas.

In addition, the city operates a 'Wildfire Drone Surveillance Team' to monitor illegal burning activities across a wide area, and maintains a system for immediate response to wildfires with 11 wildfire surveillance CCTVs equipped with thermal imaging cameras.

Deputy Mayor Kim Jongil stated, "The most important factor in wildfires is an immediate initial response," adding, "We will continuously inspect our suppression personnel and equipment to maintain a state of readiness, and do our utmost to protect the safety and property of our citizens."
