During the event, the two regions also discussed new cooperative projects for next year, such as mutual donations to the Hometown Love Donation Program and the operation of a local specialty market. This meaningful occasion further solidified the foundation of friendship and cooperation between the two areas.
In his opening ceremony congratulatory remarks, Nam Heedong, head of Ganggu-myeon, stated, "Although Ganggu-myeon and Buk-i-myeon are not geographically close, our annual mutual visits have brought us closer together in spirit. Together with Buk-i-myeon head Lim Sangmuk and Residents' Autonomy Committee Chairman Shin Byungil, we will continue to promote ongoing exchange activities for the mutual development of both cities."
Since signing a sister city agreement in November 2023, Ganggu-myeon and Buk-i-myeon have been expanding cooperation in various fields, including culture, economy, and administration, and plan to further strengthen their alliance to address the shared challenge of local depopulation.
