On November 10, Minister of Justice Jung Sungho expressed his position regarding the decision to forgo an appeal in the Daejang-dong case as he arrived at the Ministry of Justice building in Gwacheon. Minister Jung stated, "Since a sentence higher than what the prosecution had requested was handed down, we determined that not filing an appeal would not be an issue."
