On November 7, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Choi Hwi-young visited Jongmyo Shrine with National Heritage Administration Commissioner Heo Min. After touring Jeongjeon Hall, he stated at a press conference, "We will take every possible measure to lead the efforts to protect our cultural heritage." This statement came after the Supreme Court finalized a ruling against the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, who was the plaintiff in a lawsuit seeking to invalidate the resolution to amend the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Cultural Heritage Protection Ordinance. Residents in the redevelopment area are protesting against the redevelopment.
