Krafton announced on November 3 that it has appointed Jaecheol Park as its Chief Safety Officer (CSMO).
This move aims to establish an advanced safety management system and proactively manage potential safety risks that may arise during major business operations, such as the relocation to the Seongsu Cluster and e-sports activities.
CSMO Jaecheol Park is an expert who worked for about 20 years in safety and environmental management at Samsung affiliates, and later oversaw industrial safety and environmental management at Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power and Mirae Asset Global Investments. At Krafton, he will be responsible for developing company-wide safety management strategies and proactively mitigating safety and health risks. He plans to focus on creating an environment where employees can work safely.
With this appointment, Krafton will strengthen safety standards at every stage from business planning to operations, and implement a system that allows for immediate suspension of activities when risks are identified. For large-scale offline events such as e-sports, the company will standardize processes from preliminary risk assessment to on-site inspection and post-event evaluation. Krafton also plans to establish a governance framework to manage risks at each business stage in advance, and to enhance the overall level of safety management across the organization in line with global standards.
CSMO Jaecheol Park stated, "I deeply resonate with Krafton's safety management philosophy, which goes beyond regulatory compliance to embed safety from the planning stage," adding, "I will establish a sustainable foundation for safety management across all major company projects."
