This training is a regular program of the "U Research Administration Academy," which systematically cultivates professional research administration personnel.

Following the first training held in July, this session was organized as an advanced, practice-oriented course that reflected feedback from the field.

About 100 participants from research institutions in the Ulsan and Yeongnam regions-including UNIST, DGIST, Ulsan National University, and Ulsan College of Science and Technology-joined the training. Interest remained high even after the first session, demonstrating the strong enthusiasm for enhancing the expertise of local research administration professionals.

The second training course focused on practical fieldwork. It included common lectures covering all R&D areas, such as integrated management of student labor costs, practical aspects of industry projects, operation of projects by the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), basic understanding of technology transfer, and handling of withholding and value-added taxes.

Additionally, hands-on workshops were held to maximize practical learning, including RCMS settlement practice, IRIS system operation, real-world research fund execution, and a national R&D project labor cost workshop.

A special lecture also drew attention. Beom Sugyun, Head of the UNIST Information Security Team, delivered a session on "AI Utilization Strategies and Practical Prompt Techniques," focusing on leadership and practical applications in the AI era through real-world examples. He emphasized, "AI is a tool that maximizes work efficiency," and noted, "It is essential to have the ability to utilize technologies that can be immediately applied in the field of research administration."

Kim Gwanmyung, Director of Research Affairs, stated, "Research administration is the invisible foundation and driving force that enables research," adding, "I hope this training will serve as a platform to strengthen the expertise and collaborative networks of practitioners."

The "U Research Administration Academy" was launched in July. It is an educational platform designed to foster personnel with an understanding of the entire R&D cycle and practical skills that can be immediately applied. In particular, UNIST has established a system that institutionally supports practice-oriented education through the nation's first "Research Administration Expert Certification System."

The certification system evaluates research administration expertise and practical skills, granting official certification based on completion of the training requirements. It is currently being piloted at UNIST and will be expanded to external institutions starting next year.

President Park Jongrae stated, "With this training as a starting point, we will fully implement the research administration expert development system," adding, "We will build collaborative networks with external institutions to expand joint training and develop UNIST into a central institution for research administration workforce development."
