Jeongseon County to Host "2025 Jeongseon Apple Festival" Featuring Premium Highland Apples

Jeongseon County in Gangwon Province announced on November 2 that it will hold the "2025 Jeongseon Apple Festival" for two days from the 8th to the 9th at the Satongpaldal Market area in Imgae-myeon.

This festival is a representative autumn event for families, where visitors can taste premium apples produced in the highlands of Jeongseon and enjoy a variety of experiences and performances.

Jeongseon apples, cultivated at altitudes above 500 meters, are renowned nationwide for their firm flesh, high sugar content, and crisp texture. Last year, about 10,000 tourists visited, and the prepared stock sold out early, indicating the festival's popularity. This year, an even greater number of visitors is expected compared to last year.

This year's festival will feature a display of apple and potato varieties, exhibitions and sales of local agricultural products and processed goods, and special apple-themed events, among other experiential programs. In addition, the main stage will host popular special performances such as the Romantic Singer Acoustic Guitar Festival, a recording of MBC Gangwon Yeongdong's "Discovery of the Afternoon with Seong Seuri" (special appearances by Kang Moonkyung, Yoyomi, Kim Bomin, and Kim Gihwan), and the Imgae Five-Day Market performance, further enhancing the festive atmosphere.

Through this festival, Jeongseon County aims to boost local tourism and increase farmers' income at the same time. The county's Agricultural Technology Center operates a "Department of Apple Specialization" program to train professional farmers and transfer high-quality apple production techniques. Additionally, the Jeongseon, Yeoryang, Imgae, and Yemi Agricultural Cooperatives have signed a business agreement with Andong Agricultural Cooperative in North Gyeongsang Province, establishing a stable distribution system for local apples through online and wholesale market auctions.

Ham Hyunggil, Chairperson of the Jeongseon Apple Festival Committee, said, "Jeongseon apples are a premium brand created by the efforts of local residents and the pristine natural environment. I hope families, couples, and friends will enjoy the festival together and fully experience the sweet apples and the essence of autumn."
