IBK Industrial Bank of Korea announced on October 31 that it received the “Startup-Friendly Financial Institution Chairman’s Award” at the “Startup Open Innovation” awards ceremony held at Front1 in Mapo, Seoul.
The Chairman’s Award is presented to financial institutions that lead the way in co-growth and innovative collaboration with startups, with startup representatives directly selecting the recipients.
This awards ceremony, co-hosted by the Banks Foundation for Young Entrepreneurs (D.CAMP) and the Korea Fintech Support Center, and sponsored by the Financial Services Commission and Korea Growth Investment Corporation, serves as a platform for collaboration between startups and the financial sector, introducing achievements and innovative cases resulting from partnerships between financial institutions and startups.
Notably, the event saw the participation of representatives responsible for open innovation from 19 commercial banks, as well as 55 organizations including global financial institutions and top-tier domestic venture capital firms, who joined as judges and partner organizations, adding significance to the occasion.
An IBK official stated, “This award is a recognition of IBK’s open innovation efforts to grow together with startups,” adding, “We will further expand our collaboration with fintech startups through IBK 1st LAB in the future.”
