As construction of SK Hynix's production line (fab) in Yongin is set to be in full swing by 2027, efforts to expand the major road network connecting the site are also accelerating.
On October 30, Yongin City announced that construction to build and expand key connecting roads for the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster General Industrial Complex, where SK Hynix’s production line and its partner companies will be located in Wonsam-myeon, Cheoin-gu, is progressing smoothly.

By the end of the year, four lanes will be open, and the remaining two lanes are set to be fully opened across the entire section early next year. The Namyongin IC will be located on the west side of the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster complex, allowing direct access to the industrial complex via Local Road 318.
The city also aims to complete the expansion of the 1.8-kilometer Bogye-Wonsam Road, which connects National Road 17 to the industrial complex, by finishing the land section within this year and completing the bridge section early next year.
For the 2.7-kilometer section of Local Road 57 within the general industrial complex, which runs from the Wonsam-myeon town center toward Moksin-ri, two lanes have already been constructed, and all four lanes are scheduled to be fully open by April next year.
The city expects that once all these roads are open, connectivity will be significantly improved not only to major semiconductor production bases but also to nearby industrial complexes and semiconductor-related companies nationwide, via the Sejong-Pocheon Expressway, Yeongdong Expressway, and National Road 17.

The site will also feature Korea’s first mass-production-linked advanced semiconductor testbed, the Trinity Fab (Mini Fab), and more than 50 semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment companies will move in.
Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin, stated, "The Yongin Semiconductor Cluster General Industrial Complex, together with the Idong and Namsa Advanced System Semiconductor National Industrial Complexes, will strengthen Korea’s semiconductor industry competitiveness and serve as a core asset for Yongin to become a global semiconductor hub city. We will continue our efforts to expand the transportation network to support the activities of semiconductor-related companies and to provide better transportation convenience for our citizens."
