Sales and operating profit increased by 24% and 291%, respectively, compared to the same period last year, driven by the recovery of the global construction equipment market.

Sales grew as demand recovered across major regions. Operating profit saw significant improvement due to a profitability-focused strategy, including increased sales of high value-added products, price hikes, and reduced promotional expenses. Compared to the previous quarter, sales decreased by 4.6%, and operating profit fell by 23.5%.

By business segment, the construction equipment division recorded sales of 854.3 billion won, a 30% increase compared to the same period last year. Advanced markets such as North America and Europe grew by 38%, benefiting from a low base effect from last year, demand recovery, and increased pre-purchasing in North America. Emerging markets, including Latin America and Africa, also saw steady sales growth due to expanded infrastructure investment and increased demand for mining equipment.

In China, sales increased by 82% year-on-year as the production volume of the former HD Hyundai Construction Equipment Jiangsu Corporation was integrated into HD Hyundai Infracore Yantai Corporation. The company explained, "The effects of business restructuring have begun to materialize."

The engine division posted sales of 275.9 billion won and an operating profit of 46.5 billion won, up 8% and 42%, respectively, from a year earlier. Expanded demand for generator engines and steady sales of engines for defense applications drove performance. In particular, the division maintained a double-digit operating margin by raising selling prices and increasing the proportion of high-profit products.

A representative from HD Hyundai Infracore stated, "As the global market continues to recover, we will strengthen growth momentum across all construction equipment and engine divisions," adding, "We aim to increase both mid- to long-term sales and profits by focusing our portfolio on high-profit products and managing costs efficiently."
