The 41st Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judge Jeong Hoeil) held the sentencing hearing on the 30th for the lawsuit filed by ADOR to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract with the five members of NewJeans. The members of NewJeans did not appear in court on this day.

The court stated, "It is difficult to conclude that a significant obligation specified as grounds for termination of the exclusive contract was violated," and determined that the exclusive contract remains valid. Previously, the NewJeans side argued that the contract was void due to a serious breach of obligations and a breakdown of trust, but these claims were not accepted.

The court further explained, "It is difficult to see the dismissal of former ADOR CEO Min Heejin as a breach of contract," adding, "None of the reasons for the alleged breakdown of trust put forth by the defendants can be recognized." The court also pointed out that "Min Heejin engaged in a public campaign for the independence of NewJeans, not for the purpose of protecting the group."

In November last year, NewJeans claimed that the exclusive contract with ADOR had been terminated due to a breach by the agency and announced plans to pursue independent activities. In response, ADOR filed a lawsuit in December last year, asserting that the contract remained valid. The court attempted mediation twice, but as both parties failed to reach an agreement, the case was concluded with today's ruling. As a result of the court's decision, NewJeans will remain with ADOR.
