SK Ecoplant announced on the 30th that it has appointed Kim Youngsik, Head of Mass Production at SK Hynix, as its new president.
This appointment was made to further clarify the company's vision and growth strategy as a comprehensive semiconductor service provider, and to continuously strengthen its competitiveness, following the stabilization of its financial structure through business portfolio rebalancing.
Kim, the appointee, is a semiconductor process expert who has served as Head of Photo Technology, Head of Manufacturing & Technology, and Chief Production Officer (CPO) at SK Hynix. He has achieved significant results, including establishing a mass production system for high bandwidth memory (HBM).
An SK Ecoplant representative stated, "Kim is expected to play a key role in strengthening the company's competitiveness and driving a successful initial public offering (IPO) by identifying differentiated opportunities and delivering results in SK Ecoplant's semiconductor business."
Kim is expected to be officially appointed as an inside director and CEO following approval at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders and the board of directors.
