The Dubai Invitational serves as the opening event of the Race to Dubai. It is held in a pro-am format over three days, with only professional players competing on the final day. A total of 60 DP World Tour professionals and 60 amateurs will participate.
The Hero Dubai Desert Classic is the first Rolex Series event of the DP World Tour. McIlroy has won this tournament four times. Having achieved a career Grand Slam last year, McIlroy shared his excitement, saying, "I'm really looking forward to starting the new year in Dubai. The UAE is always a place filled with great memories for me. I am hoping for even better results this year."
