Daejeon Technopark hosted a cultural exchange event on the afternoon of October 27 at the Special Exhibition Hall of the Future Technology Pavilion in the National Science Museum, inviting foreign military officers and their families.
This event, jointly organized by Daejeon Technopark and the Daejeon Cultural Foundation, was titled "Daejeon-Style K-Defense and K-Culture Exchange." Over 100 participants attended, including foreign military officers from the National Defense University Graduate School of Security and the Naval War College, as well as representatives from local defense companies.
The event was held in conjunction with the ongoing "Artience Daejeon" exhibition, a convergence art project. It provided an opportunity for foreign military officers and their families to enjoy programs blending technology and art, fostering cultural communication.
The foreign military officers and their families viewed works by nine participating artists in the "Artience" exhibition, experiencing the creative sensibilities generated by the fusion of science, technology, and art.
Additionally, a variety of cultural experiences were offered, including an art and movement creation program for children, virtual reality (VR) interactive games, and kinetic art activities, allowing foreign military families to participate together.
The event also featured performances, beginning with a classical stage by pianist Park Sehwan and soprano Lee Chaeyoung, followed by collaborative performances by Rev De Gypsy and Camerata Ars Activa, which received an enthusiastic response from the audience.
Kim Wooyeon, President of Daejeon Technopark, stated, "I hope this meaningful occasion in Daejeon, the center of K-Defense, allowed foreign military officers and their families to broaden their horizons through convergence programs blending technology and art." He added, "We will continue to promote the development of a Daejeon-style convergence ecosystem where K-Defense and K-Culture can communicate with the world."
