The event featured presentations and discussions.
The campus of Pukyong National University, which served as the headquarters for both the United Nations Ground Forces Command and the Eighth United States Army, as well as the command post of General Walker during the Korean War, is recognized as a historic site symbolizing the UN’s spirit of peace. This is especially significant in Busan, the only city in the world with a UN Memorial Cemetery.
This event, held at Pukyong National University, was regarded as a first step for Busan to become a "global city of peace and solidarity."
The Korea UN Peace Research Institute at Pukyong National University plans to continue developing various programs to realize the vision of Busan as a sustainable city of peace through research on the UN spirit and values of peace, as well as through exchanges with participating countries and the international community.
