The "Children's Humanities and Arts Program" has been a flagship social contribution activity of the Dongduk Women's University Social Service Center, running continuously since 2022.
Based on the academic expertise of university students, the program provides local children with experiences in the humanities and arts education.
For the second semester of 2025, students from various majors, including painting, fashion design, business administration, and piano, will participate and offer major-related mentoring to children at local children's centers and Our Neighborhood Childcare Centers.
For example, students majoring in fashion design, media design, and digital crafts will operate the "Little Art Lab" program, which nurtures children's imagination and engagement through hands-on design and creation activities.
Business administration and piano majors will collaborate to run the "Easy Music in Everyday Life" program, where children create musical business cards and mini-books by integrating music and business concepts.
Digital crafts majors will lead the "Doran Doran" program, allowing children to express their stories through drawing and crafting activities.
Visual design majors will offer "Raon Narae," a creativity enhancement program that combines art, history, and sensory experiences, while physical education majors will organize the "Sports Exploration Team," providing opportunities for children to try various sports and enjoy an engaging learning environment.
Painting majors will present the "Sparkling Art Bookstore," a program that combines reading and art activities to help children expand their powers of observation and imagination.
Kang Sumi, Director of the Dongduk Women's University Social Service Center, stated, "The 'Children's Humanities and Arts Program' is a meaningful social service initiative that has steadily grown for three years based on the enthusiasm, creativity, and sense of community of Dongduk Women's University students. We will continue to develop a social contribution model where the university and the local community grow together."
