Each company is the leading provider in overseas debit and prepaid payment services, respectively. They expect to create combined products that meet a wide range of user needs, leveraging the expertise and networks they have built over time.
They also plan to gradually introduce digital asset services that can be used in everyday life by integrating stablecoin-based technology with each company's overseas payment expertise.
The two companies have agreed to seek collaborative opportunities across all areas of blockchain-based financial innovation.
Sung Youngsoo, CEO of Hana Card, stated, "This collaboration marks the beginning of a new payment paradigm where fintech and traditional finance converge. As leading companies in overseas payments, we will provide the best customer experience after this agreement, offering various domestic payment benefits, free currency exchange, and fee-free overseas payments."
Kim Hyungwoo, CEO of Travel Wallet, added, "Following this partnership, we will establish an integrated payment ecosystem encompassing prepaid, foreign currency, and stablecoins, elevating the global competitiveness of Korean fintech to the next level."
