The establishment of the historical park began with the mission to honor her noble spirit dedicated to the country's independence and to ensure that the roots of the independence movement are never forgotten.
From 2017 to 2024, approximately 8 billion won was invested over seven years to develop the site, which covers 12,379 square meters, with a memorial hall, her birthplace, a memorial pavilion, a memorial monument, and a symbolic tomb.
The opening ceremony included a progress report on the construction, commemorative speeches and congratulatory remarks, a special lecture, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and a tour of the facilities. On this day, attendees toured the exhibition hall and reflected on the life and achievements of Nam Jahyeon Branch, making it a meaningful occasion.
Governor Oh Dochang stated that the patriotism demonstrated by Nam Jahyeon Branch deeply resonates with all of us living today. He added, "As the only memorial hall dedicated to a female independence activist in North Gyeongsang Province, I hope this space will serve as a representative venue for historical and cultural education in the region, and as a precious place where the spirit of the independence movement is passed down to future generations and remembered by posterity."
