On October 23, SK Ecoplant announced that it has implemented its in-house generative artificial intelligence (AI) solution, "EPI AI," company-wide to enhance work efficiency and productivity.


EPI AI is a generative AI service based on Microsoft Azure Open AI. It was developed to improve work convenience and efficiency while restricting the use of external generative AI services that may pose security issues.


Key features include the creation and sharing of AI chatbots, exploration and utilization of various in-house AI chatbots, and HR and work support guides.


Additionally, users can create personal chatbots, draft work manuals or frequently used documents, and train the AI with specific knowledge to use it as a customized assistant. The solution implements standard generative AI functions such as keyword search, data analysis, refining meeting minutes, drafting emails and press releases, translation, and image generation. The company has also completed the advancement of its chatbot system, which provides answers to frequently asked questions, contact points for responsible staff, and service links.


All data created or uploaded is processed in real time and automatically deleted without storage. By utilizing a dedicated cloud network, the risk of internal data leakage to external sources has also been eliminated.


SK Ecoplant continues to promote the application of AI in various work environments as part of operational improvements aimed at increasing efficiency and performance. The company has established new in-house AI-related teams and is actively developing solutions to enhance quality management and on-site management efficiency based on AI and digital innovation.
