This visit was arranged based on the long-standing exchange and cooperative relationship between Korea and the Netherlands. Both sides shared the current status of cooperation in the port and logistics sectors and discussed the possibility of expanding exchanges in the future. After meeting with Song Sangkeun, President of Busan Port Authority, the delegation boarded a port guide vessel to tour the North Port area of Busan Port.

Busan Port has maintained a long-standing friendship with the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands since becoming sister ports for the first time in 1985. Since then, various cooperative projects have been promoted, including the establishment and operation of a BPA logistics center within the Port of Rotterdam in 2022 as an overseas logistics hub for Korean companies.

Busan Port is a global transshipment hub, handling over 24 million TEUs of containers annually and serving as a key point in the global shipping network. The Port of Rotterdam, the largest port in Europe, leads in energy transition, hydrogen, and offshore wind power sectors, and functions as a gateway for logistics and energy in Europe.
