Mayor Baek Younghyun of Pocheon Continues On-Site Communication to Address Business Challenges

Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Younghyun) continued its communication-focused, on-site administrative approach by visiting ArcPia Acrylic Co., Ltd., located in Soheul-eup, on October 21 to listen to the company's challenges.

Attendees included Baek Younghyun, Mayor of Pocheon; the Director of the Economic and Environmental Bureau; the Head of Corporate Support; the Head of Soheul-eup; Park Yongsoo, Chairman of the Soheul-eup Entrepreneurs Association; and Yoon Hongjin, Head of Idonggyo 2-ri. Also present were Jeong Kwangyoung, CEO; An Yesun, Director; Jeong Yuna, CEO of ArcBank; and So Seungtaek, Head of Design.

ArcPia Acrylic Co., Ltd. relocated to Pocheon in 2022 and produces office furniture, acrylic art pieces, and interior products using eco-friendly acrylic materials. By developing modern products that combine design and artistry beyond traditional acrylic goods, the company is leading the domestic acrylic industry.

CEO Jeong Kwangyoung emphasized the need to improve public perception across the industry, stating, "Although acrylic is 100% recyclable and is the most environmentally friendly material among plastics, it is unfortunately misunderstood as a pollutant."

Mayor Baek Younghyun stated, "It is important to raise public awareness about the eco-friendly value of acrylic," and added, "We will establish cooperative systems with local businesses to support sales channels for acrylic products and vitalize the industry."

Pocheon City plans to continue its communication-driven administration by directly visiting business sites, listening to the voices of entrepreneurs, and promptly addressing their concerns.
