Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Donggeun) announced that, starting from the official notice issued on the 14th regarding the "Approval Notice for the Formation of the Redevelopment Association Establishment Promotion Committee for Ganeung District 8" (hereinafter referred to as the Promotion Committee), it has approved the formation of promotion committees for eight redevelopment zones in the Ganeung-dong area.
This approval is an administrative measure that aligns with the intent of the amended "Urban and Residential Environment Improvement Act" (hereinafter referred to as the Urban Improvement Act). In particular, the city reviewed all legally required documents, including lists of landowners, consent forms, and committee members, and quickly processed the promotion committees for zones where public viewing by residents had been completed prior to the designation of the improvement area.
In the past, the formation of promotion committees for reconstruction and redevelopment projects could only take place after the designation of improvement zones, resulting in lengthy delays. The revised Urban Improvement Act now allows for the formation of promotion committees even before the designation of improvement zones, provided that public viewing and resident briefing sessions have been announced and completed.
Accordingly, the city promptly approved the establishment of the promotion committee for Ganeung District 8. Going forward, in line with the "2035 Uijeongbu City Urban and Residential Environment Improvement Master Plan" announced on September 26, the city plans to swiftly process administrative procedures such as the establishment of reconstruction and redevelopment plans, approval of association formation, and project implementation plans whenever applications for promotion committee approval in designated improvement zones are received.
Mayor Kim Donggeun stated, "Redevelopment and reconstruction projects are matters of ongoing demand and interest for residents, and we will actively support the prompt implementation of resident-centered improvement projects."
