SisonAI Supplies AI Facial Recognition and eKYC Solutions to Kookon... Joint Non-Face-to-Face Real-Name Verification Service Business

Vision AI specialist company SisonAI has partnered with business data platform provider Kookon to supply three core technologies from its digital identity verification (eKYC) solution to Kookon's API (Application Programming Interface) platform, Kookon.net. Through this collaboration, the two companies will jointly pursue a non-face-to-face real-name verification service business.

The solutions provided by SisonAI include the Facial Recognition API, ID Forgery Detection API, and ID Optical Character Recognition (OCR) API. These are the main functional modules of SisonAI’s AI-powered eKYC solution, SEEU ID.

The Facial Recognition API compares the facial image on a captured ID card with a real-time selfie image, matching feature points (face embedding) between the two to verify the user's identity. The ID Forgery Detection API analyzes area-specific patterns, printing features, holograms, and glossy reflection information on the submitted ID image to determine whether the image is of a physical ID card or a copy/screen capture. The ID OCR API recognizes text and numerical information within the ID image and converts it into a string, which is then linked to Kookon's ID authenticity verification API for real-time verification of authenticity.

Kookon is a business data platform company that provides various data APIs for finance, public sector, and healthcare, among others. Each of SisonAI’s solutions will be offered as an API on the Kookon.net platform. This allows client companies to selectively implement features such as identity verification, account opening, age verification, and real-name verification according to their needs and service environments, thereby increasing implementation flexibility and cost efficiency.

Through this partnership, SisonAI has commercialized SEEU ID’s core functional modules as independent APIs, securing new revenue channels. Both companies plan to jointly expand the non-face-to-face identity verification service market in sectors such as finance, fintech, mobility, and hospitality, based on their partnership. They also intend to extend their business scope to various other industries, including public institutions, telecommunications, and online services.

Meanwhile, according to a report by global market research firm Grand View Research, the digital identity verification market in Korea is expected to grow from approximately $959.9 million (about 1.3 trillion won) in 2024 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 22.9%, reaching $3.4457 billion (about 4.9 trillion won) by 2030. This market includes non-face-to-face authentication technology, biometric authentication, document verification, and ID management. The report especially identifies Korea as the fastest-growing country in the digital identity verification market within the Asia-Pacific region.
