Through the promotion center, the city provided useful information to households with children and prospective parents, such as promoting Goyang City's birth policies, conducting infertility screening, offering counseling for women with career interruptions, and providing child development and temperament assessments.
Additionally, the Goyang Senior Club, which produces 'Dabok Package' (handmade baby products) for families with three or more children, participated to promote their project and offered opportunities for prospective parents to purchase baby products.
This policy promotion center was the first joint project conducted through a business agreement between a local government and Messe Esang, Korea's leading early childhood exhibition company. It serves as a pioneering example for promoting birth encouragement initiatives.
The organizers estimated that 51,080 people visited the Baby Fair & Early Childhood Education Exhibition where the policy promotion center was operated.
Messe Esang also held an event to encourage families with multiple children by providing a box of wet wipes to families with two or more children (holders of the Goyang Multi-Child e-Card) among visitors to the event.
A city official stated, "We were pleased to provide local organizations with opportunities to promote their services to citizens through the policy promotion center, and to offer citizens interested in childbirth a chance to see a wide range of childbirth and childcare support policies at a glance."
A citizen who visited the exhibition said, "It was very helpful to be able to access childbirth and childcare information all in one place, and I had even greater trust since the promotion center was directly operated by Goyang City."
A Goyang Special City official added, "We will continue to actively utilize large-scale exhibitions to consistently promote various policies aimed at overcoming the low birth rate."
