Dankook University, together with Yeoncheon-gun in Gyeonggi Province and Hanmi Yanghaeng, is set to embark on research into new green bio-technologies and the creation of a regional innovation ecosystem in northern Gyeonggi.

원본보기 아이콘On October 21, these organizations held a signboard ceremony for the "Dankook G-RISE Yeoncheon Support Center" at the Yeoncheon-gun Agricultural Technology Center. The event was attended by Choi Hyungjun, Head of the Dankook G-RISE Business Division; Kim Deokhyun, Mayor of Yeoncheon-gun; Lee Wonhee, Director of the Yeoncheon-gun Agricultural Technology Center; Kim Junghak, Director of Hanmi Yanghaeng; Jung Yunhwa, Associate Professor; and other related officials.
This center is being established as a hub for industry-academia-research collaboration as part of the Gyeonggi RISE (Regional Innovation System & Ecosystem) project, and is expected to drive the development and balanced growth of the green bio industry in northern Gyeonggi.
Going forward, the Dankook G-RISE Project Group aims to build a green bio innovation hub in northern Gyeonggi by combining the region’s clean resources, the university’s life science capabilities, and the technological expertise of local industries.
Additionally, in connection with Gyeonggi Province’s future growth industries (G7), the center plans to promote region-specific R&D collaboration, support for businesses, and the cultivation of specialized talent, thereby establishing a co-growth model among local governments, universities, and industries.
President Ahn Sooncheol stated, "Leveraging Dankook University’s outstanding life science research capabilities, Hanmi Yanghaeng’s healthcare technology, and Yeoncheon-gun’s pristine natural environment, we will create new future growth engines for northern Gyeonggi. Centered around this facility, we will accelerate R&D collaboration and cluster formation in the green bio sector, establishing a successful model for the Gyeonggi RISE project."
