LH Paju Garden Wins Presidential Award at Korea Landscape Awards

Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 21st that LH Paju Garden (Paju Unjeong Central Park) received the Presidential Award at the 15th Korea Landscape Awards.

Paju Garden is the first project in LH's urban park initiative. The urban park project is a specialized strategy that applies garden design techniques to parks, enriching plantings and incorporating sophisticated facilities. The park was designed as a tree-centered garden to enhance the colors of nature throughout the four seasons. Large pavilions and garden structures were arranged to create a resort-like impression.

The park features approximately 80,000 trees and herbaceous plants of various species. Artist gardens and citizen gardens are arranged throughout the park to blend the city with nature and daily life with art. This event is co-hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Environmental Landscape Development Foundation, and is considered the most prestigious award in the landscape field. Winners were selected through document review, on-site evaluation, and online public participation assessment.

Park Dongsun, Head of the LH National Land and Urban Headquarters, stated, "We will continue our efforts to create a garden city where citizens can enjoy a happy daily life by bringing the colors and vitality of nature into the cities we build, capturing the beauty of all four seasons."
