The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced on the 21st that it hosted a reception for buyers who signed contracts at overseas exhibitions during the 'Export Boom-Up Korea Week,' the largest-ever export promotion event held in conjunction with the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.
The reception took place on the first day of Export Boom-Up Korea Week, October 21, serving as the opening event. Held at the KINTEX exhibition center, this event was designed to help Korean companies expand globally by turning the achievements from KOTRA's overseas exhibition participation support program into actual export contracts.
More than 80 people, including companies that participated in overseas exhibitions and international buyers, attended the reception, where a total of 14 export contracts worth 8 million dollars were signed on site.
Starting this year, KOTRA plans to designate companies with outstanding achievements among overseas exhibition participants as 'Leading Export Companies at Overseas Exhibitions,' granting them additional points when selecting companies to participate in next year's overseas exhibitions. A total of 13 companies have been designated as leading exporters this time, and they are expected to secure more strategic opportunities in their future overseas market development activities.
KOTRA also plans to compile the various achievements of companies participating in overseas exhibitions and publish a 'Successful Overseas Exhibition Casebook' at the end of this year. The casebook will include market entry strategies developed by Korean companies tailored to each exhibition, major contract outcomes, and the process of discovering promising local buyers. It is expected to serve as a useful guide for companies participating in future overseas exhibitions.
Kang Sangyeop, Vice President and Head of the SME and Mid-Sized Company Division at KOTRA, stated, "This reception demonstrated how our overseas exhibition marketing support program leads to tangible export results," adding, "We will continue to foster leading export companies at overseas exhibitions to support the global growth of Korean businesses."
