Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province will implement a support program to improve the environment of aging apartment complexes.
The program is divided into complexes with 30 or more households and those with fewer than 30 households. For apartment complexes with 30 or more households, those that have been completed for more than 10 years are eligible. The city will provide up to 60 million won per complex to cover the costs of repairing and renovating common areas, such as rooftop and exterior wall waterproofing.
For apartment complexes with fewer than 30 households, those that have been completed for more than 12 years are eligible for support. For the same types of repairs, up to 20 million won per complex will be provided.
The city plans to link this program with the provincial subsidy program, the "Support Project for Improving the Residential Environment of Aging Elevators and Other Facilities in Apartment Complexes."
Apartment complexes wishing to apply for support should have their management representatives visit the Housing Division at Icheon City Hall with the application form and required documents during December.
Kim Kyunghee, Mayor of Icheon, stated, "We will continue to promote various support programs to ensure residential stability and improve the level of housing welfare for our citizens."
