Korea Trust to Lead Redevelopment Project in Sangdo District 14, Seoul

A Total of 1,191 Apartment Units Planned

Korea Trust, an affiliate of BS Group, has been selected as the project implementer for the large-scale redevelopment project in Sango District 14, Sangdo-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul.

On October 20, Korea Trust announced that Dongjak-gu had recently designated and officially announced Korea Trust as the project implementer for the Sango District 14 Housing Maintenance-Type Redevelopment Project. The Sango District 14 project involves constructing 1,191 apartment units in buildings ranging from three basement floors to 29 above-ground floors, on a site covering 50,788 square meters in the Sangdo-dong area.

This district was selected last year as a candidate site for the “First Rapid Integrated Planning” announced by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. After completing the maintenance plan and district designation in April, the project implementer was designated in just six months. It is considered to be progressing at an exceptionally fast pace, even among the rapid integrated planning projects in Seoul.

The Sangdo-dong area is expected to see the supply of about 10,000 new housing units, as both Moa Town and redevelopment projects are being promoted consecutively. In addition, the construction of the Seobu Line light rail and the new Dongjak-gu Integrated Administrative Town (new district office building) are underway, further enhancing transportation and administrative infrastructure. These factors are seen as significantly boosting the business potential of the Sango District 14 project.

A Korea Trust representative stated, “Following our selection for District 1 of Sinwol 7-dong earlier this year, we have now been entrusted with two sites under the First Rapid Integrated Planning initiative,” adding, “We will continue to ensure stable project execution through transparent and professional project management, in order to reward the trust of landowners and other stakeholders.”

Including the Sango District 14 project, Korea Trust has been selected as the project implementer for three key sites in Seoul and the metropolitan area: Geumjeong Station Area District 1 (where special provisions for designated developer project implementation apply), Sinwol 7-dong District 1, and Sango District 14. This has further strengthened Korea Trust’s position in the trust-based urban maintenance and redevelopment sector.
