UNIST 'Thousand-Won Breakfast' Receives 18 Million Won Sponsorship from NH Investment & Securities

UNIST (President Park Jongrae) has received a donation of 18 million won in development funds from NH Investment & Securities to support the "1,000-Won Breakfast" initiative.

This donation aims to promote the health of science and technology talents, improve student welfare, and foster mutual growth with the local community.

The "1,000-Won Breakfast" program was established to provide students with a balanced meal for just 1,000 won. UNIST operates this initiative with support from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and Ulsan City, simultaneously achieving social values such as expanding the consumption of domestic rice, enhancing youth welfare, and revitalizing the consumption of local agricultural products.

The entire donation will be used for the "1,000-Won Breakfast Special Meal (NH Brunch Day)," held every Thursday during the second semester. The special meal features a healthy menu that includes both protein and vegetables, receiving an enthusiastic response from students.

At the first special meal event held on October 2, over 300 participants attended, which was more than 100 people above the usual turnout. Students commented, "Starting the day with a nutritious breakfast is very satisfying," and "We want to continue participating in the future."

A UNIST official stated, "The 1,000-Won Breakfast program is an investment in supporting a healthy daily life and academic focus for the younger generation. With the sponsorship from NH Investment & Securities, we are now able to provide special meals as well. We will continue to expand campus welfare in cooperation with the local community."

Since 2023, UNIST has been selected as an official university supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs for the "1,000-Won Breakfast" program and has been implementing the initiative.
