Naju City in South Jeolla Province will fully open the "Najuho Dullegil Trail," which showcases the beautiful scenery of nature and the lake, on October 17.
On October 4, Naju City announced that it would fully open the "Najuho Dullegil Trail," which had previously been temporarily accessible only in certain sections, offering citizens and visitors a new healing destination.
Following the partial opening in July and after completing safety enhancements and expanding convenience facilities, this full opening provides a premium healing walking course that both residents and tourists can enjoy.
On July 11, the city initially opened a total of 6.4 kilometers: 2.8 kilometers (Section 1) from the KEPCO KPS Training Center to Nokyawonn and 3.6 kilometers (Section 2) from Jungheung Resort to Dado Mining Office. Based on user feedback, the city has since completed additional safety inspections and facility upgrades.
With this opening, the entire 8-kilometer trail is now accessible to the public.
The Najuho Dullegil Trail, with a total project cost of 11 billion won, began construction in December 2021 and was developed over approximately four years.
The trail, which connects 4.4 kilometers from the KEPCO KPS Training Center to Nokyawonn (Section 1) and 3.6 kilometers from Jungheung Resort to Dado Mining Office (Section 2), is expected to become a premium walking course that harmoniously blends forest paths with lakeside scenery.
The city expects that this opening will not only provide a simple walking path but also contribute to revitalizing local tourism, improving residents' health, and laying the foundation for sustainable urban development where nature and people coexist in harmony.
Yoon Byungtae, Mayor of Naju, stated, "We will continue to enhance convenience facilities so that the Najuho Dullegil Trail can establish itself as a premium healing course," adding, "We will do our utmost to attract 5 million tourists and help it grow into a leading regional tourist attraction."
