Park Jiwon: "Haenam Selected for Agriculture Ministry Projects... Secures 10.5 Billion Won in National Funding"

30 Billion Won Secured for Rural Area Improvement Project
75 Billion Won Smart Horticulture Complex to Be Established in Samsan-myeon
Haenam County in South Jeolla Province has been consecutively selected for public projects organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, securing a total of 10.5 billion won in national funding.
Park Jiwon, a member of the National Assembly from the Democratic Party of Korea (representing Haenam, Wando, and Jindo), announced on his social media account on October 3, 2025, "Haenam County has been selected for the 'Rural Area Improvement Project' (3 billion won) and the 'Smart Horticulture Complex Infrastructure Project' (7.5 billion won)," adding, "I am pleased to deliver this good news to the residents ahead of Chuseok."
The Rural Area Improvement Project will be carried out in Namchang-ri, Bukpyeong-myeon, Haenam County. This area contains numerous livestock farms such as pigsties that cause unpleasant odors, as well as abandoned buildings and vacant houses. The project aims to demolish these structures, improve the village environment, enhance the quality of life for residents, and revitalize the community.
Park Jiwon explained, "Namchang-ri is expected to see significant development with the opening of the Gwangju-Haenam (Wando) Expressway, and this improvement project is part of the preparations for that."
The Smart Horticulture Complex Infrastructure Project will be implemented in the Agricultural Research Complex No. 2 in Samsan-myeon. Through this project, Haenam County plans to build essential infrastructure such as roads, water supply and drainage, electricity, and sewage treatment facilities in the scaled-up and concentrated smart horticulture complex, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the horticulture industry.
Park Jiwon expressed his gratitude, saying, "I would like to thank the officials of Haenam County, South Jeolla Province, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs for their efforts in securing this project. I am especially grateful to Minister Song Miryeong of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, who personally delivered the good news to me yesterday afternoon."
