The newly set amount is 1,150 KRW (11.1%) higher than the government-announced 2026 minimum wage of 10,320 KRW. It was calculated by comprehensively considering the living wage set by Gyeonggi Province and the city's fiscal circumstances.
Notably, in September 2023, Pocheon City amended its 'Living Wage Ordinance' to expand the scope of application. As a result, the living wage now applies not only to workers directly employed by the city but also to employees of city-funded and city-invested institutions, as well as workers in direct job creation programs supported by national and provincial funds.
The newly finalized 2026 living wage will be applied from January 1 to December 31, 2026.
